Emer Barry is an experienced soprano soloist with a degree in Music and Italian from UCD. In 2005 she graduated with honours in a Masters in Music Performance from the DIT Conservatory of Music and Drama where she studied under the renowned Irish soprano Regina Nathan. Currently she is a part-time student of the Royal Irish Academy of Music under the tutelage of Kathleen Tynan, Head of Vocal Studies, RIAM.

Emer has been singing at weddings for over ten years and has built up an extensive repertoire ranging from classical and opera to celtic music and more modern, ‘popular’ pieces.

“Planning a wedding can be overwhelming but planning the music for the ceremony doesn’t have to be. It’s YOUR day and I’m happy to sing any songs that have a particular significance to you and your families.

Through my many consultations with couples over the years, I discovered that most of them had an idea of the kind of music they wanted but were quite unsure where to put everything.

Therefore, I devised a Wedding Guide which outlines the various parts of the wedding mass and gives suggestions as to which hymns/songs are most suitable for each section.
I have found this to be very helpful in giving an overall shape to the ceremony from the Entrance hymn to the Recessional, bringing the mass full circle through music.”
